Gas Turbine Compressor Sets Control System Relay Logic
Course Objective
  • To provide a Supervisor or Technicians skill and knowledge in trouble shoot Solar Gas Turbine Compressor sets using a relay control system.
  • Understand basic philosophy of Gas turbine works and its control
  • Understand the principal of Speed and Temperature control system, setting and calibration and its philosophy.
  • To understand how to read one line diagram 24VDC Solar Gas Turbine control system drawing and goes through the step by step process and understand the vibration instruments and its calibration.
Who should attend
  • Maintenance Superintendents, Maintenance Engineers, Maintenance Supervisors, Turbine Technicians, Operator, Electricians, Instrument Technicians.
Pre Requisites
  • Have been attended Basic Gas Turbine Compressor Sets Operation and Maint.
  • Has a basic electrical or control system, technical background, minimum High School with 1 years working experience.
Instructors, hand out
  • Instructors comprises of National Engineers and several Technical Expert in oil and gas field operation with 15 years plus experience.
  • Course will be conducted in both English and Bahasa Indonesia
    Hand out available in Bahasa Indonesia
Venue and Date 
  • Jakarta, field sites, or other cities.
  • Date is subject for discussion with clients.
Course Fee 
  • If the course is conducted in a group, maximum number of person per class is limited to 20 people.
  • If minimum 10 participants are not fulfilled, minimum of 10 persons will be charged.

Day 1
Basic Gas Turbine engine and basic centrifugal gas compressor
  • Gas turbine engine dan compressor package components and its function.
  • Turbine package support system and its function
Day 2
  1. Electrical control system components and its function.
    • Control panels, end devices, speed/temperature/MFAC black boxes.
    • Topping calibration threshold
    • Yard valves components
    • Start mode: Auto/Manual Valve sequence, Test
    • Instrumentation: Solenoid, Versa shutoff valve, switches
Day 3
Start up sequence
  • Intro to Electrical logic control diagram, drawing symbols,
  • Start sequence block diagram, start up overview.
  • Annunciator and shutdown indicators
  • Start up sequence up to loading speed
Day 4
Start up sequence (cont’ed)
  • Loading speed, normal/emergency stop.
  • Trouble shooting cases discussion: Early topping, PT overspeed, ready light
  • Control System Maintenance and Calibration
  • Procedures, forms, test equipment set up
Day 5
Other related system
  • Detergent wash control system
  • Surge control system circuit, bypass valve
  • Battery, ground fault, charger
  • Vibration instrument: probes installation & calibration, trip setting
  • Cold start modification.
